Cleaning Tips

I have had several people ask me how to clean a dirty headband, bow or snap clip. Personally I have been lucky and have yet needed to clean any of my daughters collection. Although one day I'm sure I will be looking for the information in this post!
I have looked around and found many different ways to clean them. However since I have never tried them there are do at your own risk suggestions. I am only posting the ideas that I would feel safe to try. (As some people are crazy and actually threw bows in the washer!)
If your bow has an actual stain vs. just being dingy you may want to do more of the spot cleaning techniques. For headbands I would personally try Idea 2.

Idea 1- Use a small brush and dish washing liquid soap and scrub them clean. Place them in a window that gets lots of sun so that they dry quickly.
Idea 2- Boil a pot of water and hold the bow or headband over the steam with a pair of tongs. Then wipe off the dirt. For bows it can also help bring the bow "back to life".
Idea 3- Put bows in a safe place (such as a sippy cup/ bottle holder) in the dishwasher. Blot the bulk of water out and let dry.
Idea 4- Soak in a sink of soapy water.

These Idea's may or may not ruin any satin ribbon. But should be safe on the grosgrain ribbon. Ninety percent of the items purchased from Bands, Bows & More are made from grosgrain ribbon. There is a very limited use of satin.
